Alison Hoddinott was born in Hobart in 1931, and studied at the University of Tasmania and Oxford University. Her publications include Gwen Harwood: The Real and the Imagined World (A&R, 1991). She was formerly a Senior Lecturer at the School of English, Communication and Theatre at University of New England, Armidale.
